Volunteers Impacting People for Success (VIPS) Office

Volunteers Impacting People for Success (VIPS) Coordinator

Eric Erickson

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our volunteers who serve our inmates and returning citizens. Our volunteers are an invaluable resource to our department as they provide programming that focuses on changing criminal behavior and mindsets which are extremely beneficial to their rehabilitation process. This section of website will include contact information for our chaplains, who schedule and provide oversight to our volunteer programs at their facility.

We recognize the importance of our volunteers having access to the application process and volunteer handbook that will assist you in serving with confidence in our correctional facilities. Listed below is the volunteer handbook for you to review for any questions or concerns. Additionally listed below is the NEW volunteer application packet, please complete the packet, then either mail or scan and email to the primary facility you are choosing to volunteer at. Once the facility processes the application packet, you will be contacted by your facility chaplain to schedule your orientation training.

For more information or questions about volunteering please send emails to NMCD-Volunteers@state.nm.us
