Paul Pacheco brings with him a wealth of experience in law enforcement, management and governance. Paul worked as a police officer with the Albuquerque Police Department for 27 years in various capacities, including a patrol officer, a field training officer, a certified general police instructor and a detective.Paul was assigned to the FBI’s Violent Fugitive Task Force for 3 years. He later was assigned to the US Marshal’s Southwest Investigative Fugitive Task Force for approximately 3 years.
In addition, he also served as President of the Albuquerque Police Officers Association.
Paul also served in the New Mexico House of Representatives representing District 23 that includes Albuquerque’s Westside, the Village of Corrales and parts of Rio Rancho. During his six-year legislative career, Paul served as Vice Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and was a member of the House Transportation Committee and the House Labor Committee.
Paul will be overseeing Probation and Parole; the Training Academy; STIU; OPS and the Inspector General.
